Tuesday Huesday: Fall Bowl



Happy Tuesday Huesday! I hope you find this fall bowl color pallet inspiring. I made this bowl when I was studying Fine Arts in college. Throwing pottery is so much fun. The glaze colors in the ceramic department were all very earthy, so I think this goes right along with the time of year. I am so thankful for the colors that peak during the fall. This is my favorite time of year. I wish you all a Happy Thanksgiving!

Our Thanksgiving Menu:
1. Virginia Ham {please pray for me, this is my first time cooking a ham}
2. Garlic Mashed Potatoes {for my f.i.l.}
3. Turkey Stuffing {even though I am not cooking a turkey, Thanksgiving dinner is not the same
     w/o stuffing}
4. Steamed Green Beans {something healthy}
5. Sweet Potatoe Biscuits {something sweet}
6. Corn Pudding {my mom's recipe}

And for Dessert:
1. Pecan Pie {my husband's favorite}
2. Pumpkin Bread {it makes the house smell divine}
3. Chex Pumpkin Pie Crunch {a Chex recipe just to snack on while dinner is cooking}

Personal


I love the fall! The cool weather and the turning of the leaves are a refreshing change I enjoy.
Lately, I've been thinking about "what has been" and "what is now". Looking back a year ago, I am thankful that God is faithful. He delivered and provided in many ways. There is no doubt that the way He delivered and provided are both a blessing and unexpected {i.e., not what I would've thought or imagined}. I love that about Him. He is able to surprise us, to absolutely delight us with the plans He has for us.

Ephesians 3:20 ~ Now to Him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us,

I love North Carolina. I have so many fond memories of family vacations from when I was about 9 years old.  I saw snow for the first time in the mountains of North Carolina. This is also where my man is from. Julian was born here. In the back of my mind, I knew we would find ourselves back in NC at some point. It is so surreal to ponder the past. Some places, things, experiences seem like a dream. I can remember certain instances that I've prayed, "Lord, please allow me to always remember this moment." All of those moments involve time spent with my husband and time with my boys when they were infants or when we just had a touching mommy-son moment. All I know is: I don't want to miss a thing. Not a blessing, not an experience. No, I don't want to miss anything the Lord has planned for me to see, hear, share, capture, learn, teach, or to love.

Inspired: Fashion Friday

Today's Inspired palette was created from a lovely sunset in my front yard.
I am seeing alot of Gray, especially stone gray in stores and online. Since gray is a neutral, you can mix it with any other color. I am loving the apricot and peachy colors too. Hope this helps to inspire your wardrobe for your next photo session. Have a fabulous weekend.

Inspired: Fashion Friday


Lately, I have been inspired by a few photographers who have offered their clients a little something extra. The Color Palette above is derived from a photograph I took of a still-life. If you plan to have your family photograph updated soon, I encourage you to think outside the box. Blue jeans and white shirts has been done. Black shirts with khaki pants has been done. Dare to be different. Don't be afraid of bright color, a bold accessory, a little umph (for the lack of a better word). I hope this Fashion Friday addition will inspire your wardrobe for your next session.
I absolutely love fall. It's my favorite time of year. The colors are beautiful. The air is crisp. The weather is cooler. Who is ready for Fall?


Hello All! I am SO looking forward to Fall. Those of you who know me well, know that I go a little overboard {maybe/maybe not} with my home decor around the holidays. This is a domestication credit that I'd like to give to my mom. {APPLAUSE!} She taught me everything I know about making a house a warm cozy home that looks lovely and lived in all at the same time.

Family Fun at the Park!

Sooooo...I'd say this was a "sneak peek", but I think this post would be in a different category. In all seriousness I could not decide which ones to post, so I posted my favs. Hope you enjoy :)

















You wouldn't be able to tell by these pictures that it was a mighty humid day. This beautiful family was a bunch troopers. Posing here, posing there, smiling, fussing with hair, swinging, licking lollipops...wow, they deserved a treat after this session :) My sweet friend, Crissy, wanted to get some photographs of the whole family together. Braggin' Rights!

This past weekend Julian & I traveled down to central Florida to visit with my family. We hopped in my parents' SUV, waved farewell to Dada, and away we went. Poor Dada misses alot during football season. 'Tis the life of a football coach. Honestly, I was a bit worried about the 6 hour road trip with my sweet 2 year old boy, but thank God for naps and Wow Wow Wubzy on portable DVD. This short trip was planned to celebrate the fall birthdays as a family and we took the opportunity to take some pictures too. You'll notice that I am in some of these shots...that is because I handed over my camera and tripod to my sister's friend to capture the whole bunch. (Kelly, you did a great job, girl.) To say that I am proud of my family is an understatement. If I had a dime for every time I heard the exclamation, "There are SIX of you?", I'd be a RICH gal! As always, we had so much fun. For those of you who have toddlers, you know that they provide a good source of entertainment :) I am so glad Julian & I braved the long drive to visit with my family. It was so worth it! I love you guys and miss you terribly. Wish we were closer. Happy Birthday Jess, Dad, and Kaylen. May the Lord bless you and keep you.
