Last Session for 2010

This is my last session for 2010. Finishing the year off with a session with an old friend is perfect. Meet Brooke. She and I went to high school together and then worked together for a few years at a bank. Oh the fun we've had! Brooke is such a sweet person too. It was a pleasure for me to do this photo session. Brooke has 2 little pups, Joey & Beau. They were good little pups for the camera. I would take a few shots and then they'd come over to me and lick my face. So cute! Brooke also has a bf, Dan, who is a great guy. I am so happy they found each other. I feel very blessed to have old friends like Brooke. This session was so fun. Thank you for having me over to your beautiful home. May love, faithfulness, and goodness follow you all the days of your life. Love you, Brookie!!!

Mine!

Merry Christmas! These little men are the treasures of my heart. It was difficult to find the right time for both of them to have a photo shoot, but we finally did it...only days before Christmas I might add. Nana baught these precious matching outfits for Christmas pictures. I love matching outfits! My mom did the same thing for me & my sister, Kendra. It makes life easier for me, but the bonus is that it looks so darn cute too! The location of this session is so beautiful. I discovered that I {Love} Sunbursts. The time of day is so key for natural light photography.
Thank you to those who visit my Blog; I appreciate your time. Looking forward to what God has in store for Karrie Drake Photography in 2011!

The Lau Family

I had such a fun session with the Lau Family this afternoon at the beach. The weather was a little brisk; well, for South Florida. The surfers were out enjoying the waves and we had the beach to ourselves. Cari & Chris got married at the beach and wanted to revisit for a family photo session. Their four girls are so beautiful and full of personality. What a joy it was for me to capture some memories for them. Thank you so much Lau Family. I hope y'all like the sneak peek.

The R Crew at the Beach!

What a perfect Sunday afternoon at the beach! The clear skies, the aqua blue waters, a gorgeous family to photograph...need I say more. Terri is an old friend of mine from school. She is as beautiful on the inside as she is on the outside. Terri brought her precious three kids with her today. This was such a fun session. In between shots I got to catch up with Terri and capture some moments of her with her children. Tiffany, Jake, and Trent kept me on my toes, which I loved. We had many laughs and few wind whips of sand in the face, we snuck under the lifeguard stand, attained some found objects (a matchbox car and a plastic orange starfish). We had a great time together. Here is a little sneak peek of my favs. Enjoy!

Motivation for Monday

Motivation for Monday {Thankful}

Psalm 100:4~ Enter His gates with thanksgiving and His courts with praise; give thanks to Him and praise His name.

Above is a little collage I put together of our family's Thanksgiving Highlights. It was so fun to watch mom decorate. We each prepared a dish to bring to the table. It will become our new tradition. Our house was filled with laughter, light, and good smelling Thanksgiving dishes. It was a wonderful occasion.
Most historically, the first Thanksgiving was declared by William Bradford on November 29, 1623. He gave God glory and praised Him for all they had received from the Lord.
What are you thankful for today? The Lord wants you to tell Him what you are thankful for; share with Him about what has made your heart glad. His heart desires for you to seek Him and praise Him for all that He has made and given to you. He promises that when we seek Him with all our heart, we WILL indeed find Him. God Bless You!

Motivation for Monday

Ecclesiastes 3:11~ He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the hearts of men; yet they cannot fathom what GOD has done from beginning to end.

Motivation for Monday

I apologize that this is so late. This was supposed to be posted on Monday, but its Friday. Life is very busy this time of year :)
John, pictured above, will be 7 months this month. I can't believe that this time last year I was pregnant and decorating my home in GA for Christmas.
This year I am watching my mom decorate her home here in S FL while our house in GA remains empty and unsold. This experience has been tough for my family. Learning to live without certain luxuries we were acustomed to, adjusting to living with my folks, amongst other lessons has been humbling. I know God has a plan. He has a perfect plan and I do trust in Him. Although we would like our house sold and would like to live in our own space sooner rather than later, God's timing is perfect. It is so interesting to sit and reflect upon what you were doing at the same time last year...I am looking foward to looking back on this time of waiting and rejoicing in the Lord for what He has done. I can't imagine it now, but I know that God works all things together for the good of those who love Him.
I wanted to share the verse above in Ecclesiastes 3:11. To know that God makes EVERYTHING beautiful in its time is such an amazing promise to hold on to. Whether it be a child growing inside a mother's womb, a broken relationship that needs mending, a troubled heart, God will make everything beautiful in its time. He has done so much for us that we can't even fathom what He has done from beginning to end. How Great Is Our GOD!!!
