I'm looking forward to helping you make Holiday memories to share with family & friends.

Braggin' Rights!

This past weekend Julian & I traveled down to central Florida to visit with my family. We hopped in my parents' SUV, waved farewell to Dada, and away we went. Poor Dada misses alot during football season. 'Tis the life of a football coach. Honestly, I was a bit worried about the 6 hour road trip with my sweet 2 year old boy, but thank God for naps and Wow Wow Wubzy on portable DVD. This short trip was planned to celebrate the fall birthdays as a family and we took the opportunity to take some pictures too. You'll notice that I am in some of these shots...that is because I handed over my camera and tripod to my sister's friend to capture the whole bunch. (Kelly, you did a great job, girl.) To say that I am proud of my family is an understatement. If I had a dime for every time I heard the exclamation, "There are SIX of you?", I'd be a RICH gal! As always, we had so much fun. For those of you who have toddlers, you know that they provide a good source of entertainment :) I am so glad Julian & I braved the long drive to visit with my family. It was so worth it! I love you guys and miss you terribly. Wish we were closer. Happy Birthday Jess, Dad, and Kaylen. May the Lord bless you and keep you.

Around Macon...

Macon, Georgia...I never imagined living here. I never thought I'd live in North Carolina either, but we did for about 3 years. Beau & I have been so blessed. We truly believe that every place we've lived since 2002, when we were wed, has been completely a God thing. The thought is awesome, really. The God of our Universe has purposed a place for us to work, to serve, to touch hearts, and to be spiritually moved. How special and dear we are to Him. I love my friends here, our church family, my job, the house & neighborhood we live in. All that I have now in this moment is from my God. Thank You! If you are reading this, I hope you take a few minutes to reflect on all that you have, even if it is only one thing. (your spouse, your child(ren), your pet, your job, the view from your house (or office), an unbelievable opportunity, an answered prayer, the letter (or email) that came today, a stranger smiled at you, a friend gave you hug...Anything. Know that the orginator of that gift was God. He orchestrates our lives. That thought is so freeing to me. I can make poor decisions, but He still has a plan. I could really botch things up, but if I go to Him in prayer and lift up my burden, He will lift me up and then lead me in the direction I should go. That's how much He cares; that's how much He loves. Thank you, Lord, for being my Deliverer, my Redeemer, my Counselor, my God.

Below are some photos I took "Around Macon". Some of the photos are edited. I enjoy exploring and this day was a beautiful one to do it. Blessings to you. In His Love, Karrie

The Linkous 3...soon to be 4!

It was a beautiful Saturday morning with my friend, Amber, and her family. Amber is such a sweet woman with a gentle spirit. It has been such a joy to be her friend and co-worker. Today was the first time I met her husband, Mike, who like my Beau, is a quick wit! Coleman is my little boy's favorite. Coleman has taken Julian under his 4 year old wing. Watching them play always puts Amber & I in stitches. I had so much fun photographing this lovely family. You'll see that I had some trouble choosing which ones to put on my blog, so I just picked a hand full. Amber, I hope I captured some moments you'll treasure. I can not wait to watch your belly grow. Congratulations on the good news...Coleman, you'll be a great big brother. Blessings!

My Art...

As promised, I have posted 2 of the paintings I've been working on this summer. I have been thinking and praying about how God wants to use me. Whatever that is, whether through photography, painting, or whatever else, I want Him to be glorified through it...through me. So many art forms have touched my soul and I desire to share this wonderful gift God has given me. Hope you enjoy!

I'M ALIVE!

Oh, to be spiritually ALIVE! As a Christian, the "feeling" of being connected to God is not always there. Some days I feel His presence; some days my perception is that He is silent. But today...oh today, I felt Him. I felt Him all around me. I love that feeling. It's a reassurance from the Lord that I am ALIVE & that He loves me. I've been reading my devotions, going to Bible study, and felt empty for a long time until today. My quiet time with the Lord this morning was in the form of a song*. I've listened to this song* so many times before, but today it hit me. It was like I was away from home for so long. Jesus greeted me, through this song, with the kind of hug that embraces you hard & quickly, picks you up off the ground, and swings you around & won't let go. Wow, Jesus missed me. I can not describe in words what that feeling like, except to say that I feel like I have purpose again. Not that I didn't before...you know what the haziness of life is like. If you allow it, it will cloud your vision of the Lord. I am so thankful the clouds have been lifted today. As the Psalm (84:10) goes...better is ONE day in Your courts than a thousand elsewhere.

Anyway, things have been very quiet here on the photography front. I have had some time to think and work on some other art though. I will post pictures of my paintings later. You can comment if you'd like.

*I want to share the song that touched me today. All Around Me, by Flyleaf. It's awesome...check it out if you'd like. The genre of music is Alternative Rock.

Have to post a picture...so here is one of my baby boy, Julian. I love him so much.
